Product Description

Willow Tree is an intimate line of figurative sculpture that speaks in quiet ways to heal, comfort, protect and inspire. Artist Susan Lordi hand carves each original Willow Tree sculpture. This piece is made from her original carving and then painted by hand. While simple in architectural detail, the Crèche has meaning built into its very design. The piece has a regal, stately appearance, yet is constructed from humble materials of barn wood and nails. The structure's proportions also suggest the size and shape of the cross, while its rusty nails foretell the crucifixion. The Crèche intimately shelters the holy family, then opens wide to welcome shepherds and travellers from afar. The product is supplied in branded gift box with the vellum insert containing a signed note from Susan Lordi and a gift tag with space for your personal message. Not a toy or children's product. The 6-piece Nativity is at the essence of the display. The simplicity and form of Mary holding Jesus, Joseph, and the Shepherd and Sheep who stand watch are the foundation of this timeless holiday tradition.
