Brød & Taylor’s Folding Slow Cooker
Brød & Taylor’s Folding Slow Cooker breaks the boundaries of traditional kitchen appliance categories. Any Dutch oven or stock pot is now a slow cooker for true one-pot meals in this patented appliance that folds flat for storage. Accurate digital temperature control creates a range of temperatures. Low for gentle warming, medium heat for sous-vide cooking, up to just below boiling – the optimal temperature for slow cooking.
Slow Cooker & Proofer Mode
Touch a button to switch the Folding Slow Cooker to Proofer mode, allowing degree-by-degree temperature control and optional humidity. Culinary applications expand into a broad realm, ideal for fermenting and rising yeast breads, culturing yoghurt, melting and tempering chocolate, and crafting and a wide range of probiotic fermented foods
Breadmaker’s Dream Machine
Enjoy accurate temperature control and consistent humidity. The Brod & Taylor Folding Proofer creates an environment of consistent low-temperature warmth that is vital for many kitchen processes. Ideal for sourdough and yeast breads. Whether you’re a novice bread maker or an experienced enthusiast, this is the tool that helps ensure a flavourful, open-textured bread that is ready when you want it to be.
One Pot Slow Cooking
The Folding Proofer & Slow Cooker used in the Slow Cook Mode is best for traditional slow cooking, sous vide cooking, and even making black garlic. Simply place your metal covered metal pot directly on the heating plate. For slow cooking in the Proofer both the rack and the water tray are removed. Set the temperature on the digital panel according to what temperature you desire.
Culture Perfection
It's the ultimate solution for fermenting and culturing. Explore a new world of fermented foods from yoghurt to kombucha to tempeh. The Brod & Taylor Folding Proofer used in Dry Mode is best for making yoghurt, chocolate, butter, tempeh, kifir, kombucha, sour cream, crème fraiche, cheese, and natto. Simply remove the water tray and place containers on the rack above the heating plate.
How it Works
Gentle and consistent radiant heat rises from the aluminium base plate. Digital temperature controls provide settings from 21–49º C. For rising bread, humidity may be increased by using the included water tray (typical humidity is 60-80%). A thermostat in the base of the Proofer controls the heat within a narrow range, making the Proofer much more consistent than yoghurt makers, dehydrators, or ovens on proof settings. Food is warmed with radiant heat from the base and is generally stable within several degrees.
In Slow Cook mode, remove rack and water tray and simply place your metal covered metal pot directly on the heating plate. Adjust the temperature from 30-90º C in five-degree increments.
Folds Flat for Storage
Spacious enough to hold several loaves of bread, an 8 quart stock pot or 2 gallons of yoghurt, yet folds down flat for storage in seconds. Fits in a kitchen drawer or pantry with sheet pans and cutting boards. Rack and water tray store inside when closed.

Better Slow Cooker
Most conventional slow cookers (typically with only Low and High settings) actually have no temperature control at all. They heat slowly and continuously until the maximum temperature is reached – usually boiling. This means for much of the time you are slow cooking, your food is actually below or above the actual ideal cooking temperature. With many slow cookers Low and High settings are actually identical. Certain “multi-cooker” appliances with a slow cook function do have temperature control, although performance varies greatly between brands and there is no universal standard for Low or High setting.
This Folding Slow Cooker uses calibrated temperature control to maintain the selected temperature. You can choose the ideal cooking temperature for your recipe without worrying about over-cooking your food. Temperature settings are most accurate using a stainless steel pot with a flat bottom, but most any type of metal pot can be used.
